Many Math 1-2-3® tutoring candidates are under the wrong impression that being an "A" student in math qualifies them to work for us. Knowing material and being able to clearly explain that material are not the same. To ensure that our tutors can handle difficult material, we require a minimum of 5 years of experience. Those who are hired as SAT I tutors in Long Island are able to clearly explain even the most challenging questions. All of our tutors have degrees in math or in a related field.
Some Math 1-2-3® SAT I students in Long Island came to us only after working with inexperienced tutors. We avoid this problem by requiring our tutors to have at least 5 years of tutoring experience. Being a top student does not necessarily translate into being a great tutor. Even an "A" student may have forgotten many formulas and concepts over the years.
